1,872 Octets on Coding

Hello, World!

My name is Radu, and I am going to share some of my thoughts with my shiny new blog.

My blog is going to be about computer programming and coding, science, mathematics, technology, and other topics along these lines. Although this is starting as a school assignment, it looks fun, and I do plan on continuing to post at least one entry per week after we are done. So let's get started.

Programming. A fine and complicated art practiced only by mysterious men in dark suits and by the nerdy kid in your math class. A complicated jumble of confusing symbols. Useless.

Or not.

After all, I'm just an ordinary guy, and I picked up coding in a matter of days. Did you know that the first computer programmer was a woman? It's not as complicated as it looks.

Programming is just a set of instructions for a computer. The hardest part, believe it or not, is figuring out a task for your program to do. The rest is easy!

The first program I ever made was for a history project in the 7th grade. It used a series of interactive menus to outline a famous battle. My instructions simply told the computer to wait for a mouse click, and then depending on which button was clicked, display the corresponding page of information.

Now, I mainly program mathematical calculations and physics simulations. I do this for fun, and most of the time, I try to incorporate coding into everyday tasks.

Well, that's it for this week. I've been Radu; hope you enjoyed my first blog post. See you next time!
